Alberta Health Services is expanding H1N1 immunization clinics to include two new categories of high risk individuals.

Starting Tuesday both parents or one parent and one caregiver of infants under six months of age will be able to receive the shot as well as children under the age of 10 who have chronic health conditions.

The clinics will continue to offer the vaccine to children older than six months but younger than five years and pregnant women.

Proof of age for children, including infants, will be required, but parents and caregivers of infants do not need to bring the infant with them. Instead they ask caregivers who come alone have ID and a letter from the parent confirming their role.

AHS also requires proof of age and a record of prescription or medical condition for children under the age of 10 with chronic illness.
