Randy Bachman, 54-40, Sam Roberts to rock Surrey for free during Olympics

VANCOUVER - The Sam Roberts Band, 54-40, Randy Bachman, Hot Hot Heat and Tokyo Police Club are among the acts that will perform at the City of Surrey's free live site during the 2010 Olympics, the city announced today.

The 2010 Celebration Site, at Holland Park on King George Highway and Old Yale Road, will feature live Games coverage on four large video screens, an outdoor skating rink, international food vendors and two daily performances by the RCMP Musical Ride.

Many of the activities will take place under a 30,000-square-foot tent.

The site will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the Games, leaving 13 days of public programming.

The site will feature two performance stages and other acts scheduled to appear include Wintersleep, Serena Ryder, Jully Black, KS Makhan, Jim Byrnes & the Soujourners, Dan Mangan, Doc Walker, The Irish Descendants, Alex Cuba, Hey Rosetta, Five Alarm Funk and Delhi 2 Dublin.
